Volunteers in Jaipur have two option of accommodation to choose from (options should come as + opening and closing drop down pages)
Host family Indian local family which is ready to receive you like a family member, share food and space with you. Chances of having single or dual occupancy are there as we don’t keep more than 3 people in one room in host families. Host family accommodation is best to discover the local culture and to enjoy tasty home-made Indian food. Food includes breakfast, lunch and dinner made by the host and includes vegetarian authentic dishes like chapatis, daal, vegetables.

This is a common accommodation for our foreign participants to share and experience each other’s culture as we have participants from all over the globe. To ensure understanding and security in this accommodation we have some basic rules to follow to make sure everyone is convenient here. Rules are no smoking inside the accommodation, no night outs, no outsiders allowed. Food in the volunteer house includes breakfast which is self-service (make your own coffee or tea, toast, oats), lunch and dinner are ordered by our coordinator staff with delivery from hygienic and decent restaurants or chefs. Food is vegetarian authentic meals like chapatis, daal, vegetables.

In Kathmandu our team will allocate you with a host family that lives not far from your project. Host families are carefully chosen safe accommodation option to ensure cultural immersion as the volunteers can see the local customs and traditions, share food together and see the neighborhood with their hosts. Hosts are generally an extended family but you can come across nuclear families two, so based on the available number of bedrooms, our teammates decide how many participants can stay in one host family. Breakfast and dinner are included in the program and it is home-made local food while lunch can be easily arranged by the volunteers from nearby the project areas. It’s safe and also affordable and this way volunteers have freedom of choosing what they like once a day.

Virtual Internships for a Global Experience

Offered by reputed organisations in India & sub-continent, now students, aspirants and professionals can work in an international environment through virtual internships from home. What are the benefits of virtual internships?

On top of this STEP Beyond Borders combines cultural immersion online with your program: our local coordinators provide cultural workshops online such as Hindi, online meditation, yoga, virtual Indian cooking, online Bollywood dance (as per the wish of the participants) which can help the interns find a tighter bond with their colleagues’ culture, have topics for “small talks” and ensure cultural inclusiveness. India is worldwide famous for it’s incredible culture so participants can experience Indian culture and its essence virtually.
  • Remote internships develop some of the most important skills of the 21st century such as communication skills and adaptability. This is achieved through various online presentations, reports, email communication and task completion.
