Kathmandu Teaching at school

Background

Access to good quality education and awareness regarding the importance of education is one of the most basic roadblocks all developing countries across the world face.

Challenge

To bring change in the society and build an equitable world improving education facilities and overall literacy is the way forward. Due to lack of good quality teachers and role models, these children are unable to concentrate and believe in the power of education.

SBB Intervention

STEP Beyond Borders works with volunteers to build a brighter future for children altogether a better future for the country. Coupled with important skills, such as math and artistic expression, the ability to speak English fluently can open the doors for many to dream, aspire and do whatever they desire. A volunteer teacher in Nepal will primarily teach English and math to students between the ages of 6 and 15. Depending on the needs of the school, the volunteer may be asked to assist in other areas like sports, art, music and more. We always consider the volunteers’ strengths in assigning the tasks and leave room for suggestions of activities and methods of teaching so be creative and join the educational project in Kathmandu.
