This Buddhist temple complex sits atop a hill west of the city, and its stupa is visible from almost anywhere in Kathmandu. But what most visitors don’t know is that there’s an incredible viewpoint hidden away on the temple grounds. To reach it, follow the stairs up to the top of the main stupa. From there, turn left and walk towards the edge of the hill. You’ll come to a small platform with a low wall surrounding it. Step out onto the platform, and you’ll be rewarded with one of the most breathtaking views of Kathmandu Valley you’ll ever see.
